Welcome to the West Virginia State Treasurer’s website. This office serves as the state’s banker and chief investment officer, processes the state’s monies and pays all of the state’s bills. 

On this site you can learn all about the programs and services we offer, including our award-winning Unclaimed Property Division, our Smart 529 College Savings programs, E-Government activities, and how we manage the state’s money. 

This office handles money that belongs to all the citizens of West Virginia. We are dedicated to managing that money honestly, efficiently and professionally by implementing the latest technology, acquiring and maintaining the best staff possible to achieve maximum efficiency in our operations and save taxpayer dollars.

Putnam girl gets $5,000 for college
Rosheka Beckford’s name drawn in “When I Grow Up” contest

    CHARLESTONRosheka Beckford of Putnam County’s Conner Street Elementary came away the $5,000 grand prize winner Dec. 12 at a news conference to announce winners of the “When I Grow Up” contest, sponsored by State Treasurer John Perdue and The Hartford Co.
    
The Treasurer pulled Beckford’s name from a bowl near the conclusion of the news conference, held in the State Cultural Center’s Grand Hall. Beckford, in the third grade, came to the podium with a big smile on her face, to receive a ceremonial check and pose with Perdue and The Hartford’s Jeff Coghan.
