A message from the State Treasurer regarding Coronavirus:

As your State Treasurer, I want to assure you that my staff and I, along with our asset managers and key advisors, continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19, its impact on our state, and its impact on the financial markets.

We are taking proactive steps to address both business and health concerns for employees, the public and our business partners.

The State Treasurer’s Office is committed to maintaining a safe workplace and encourages commonsense practices to reduce the transmission of communicable diseases in the workplace.

In the event of a public health emergency, our office maintains a robust Business Continuity Plan to mitigate any disruption in services and ensure the office’s Banking Services, Board of Treasury Investments, SMART529 Educational Savings Plan, Prepaid College Tuition Trust Fund, West Virginia Retirement Plus program, WVABLE and Unclaimed Property remain operational.

Our investment funds are managed by some of the top investment professionals in the world, and we remain in contact with these firms to continually monitor changes and address risks to investment portfolios, plan participants and contract holders.

Please feel free to contact my office at (304) 558-5000 or wvtreasury@wvsto.com for more information.
